As a wellness and life transformation consultant, I have many suggestions for all of you mission-driven people. However, for now, I'd like to start with one of the most important factors in our overall wellbeing, and that is food. Without a doubt, we cannot possibly be creative and efficient if our bodies lack nutrition. And here is some must-have information about the foods we eat and their effect on our wellness. Protein-Rich Foods: These foods work best when you need more clarity. If you find yourself foggy or out of focus, try eating a veggie burger, cheese, soy milk, tofu, or some skinless chicken breast. These will make you feel alert and energized. Water: Besides many other priceless benefits, it helps to stabilize our mood swings. That's because dehydration plays a major role in our emotional health. So, if you find yourself going from laughing to crying one moment to the next, try drinking water instead of that wonderful-looking Apple Martini. Nuts: Nuts, especially almonds, walnuts, and hazelnuts have an amazing calming effect. If you're feeling nervous or anxious about your next interview, try having some nuts. Plus, they make a healthy snack when you are on the run. Dark chocolate: Chocolate makes us feel good and it energizes us because it increases serotonin (which is a mood hormone) and endorphins (which are the hormones of emotion) levels in the brain. To boost your energy and your happiness, indulge yourself with a small portion of dark chocolate. Make sure to choose one with a high cacao content (above 70%) and low in sugar. Glyconutrients: Glyconutrients are the 8 essential sugars that our bodies need to produce healthy cells thereby keeping our immune system strong and our hormones in balance, especially during stressful periods. In today's environment, it is important to use "intelligent supplementation" which is the prudent use of dietary supplements to support good health, resulting in enhanced quality of life, and an improved sense of wellbeing. According to February 2003 issue of The Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT)'s Technology Review, these 8 sugars will "dramatically affect the way we live and work." And I strongly recommend the use of glyconutrients as part of your daily diet.
